Best Dad's Ever!
We had so many smiles during our early Father's Day celebration today! We were happy that so many of our families took the time to come, making it a really special day. We drew pictures, sang a song, ate pancakes and spent some time outdoors on our obstacle course, potato sack and 3-legged race. A brilliant day!

Sunway Construction
What a great way to end our unit on Community Helpers, with Edmund Lew coming in with his Sunway construction team and a back hoe! We got to wear safety vests and hard hats, while we measured the cafeteria tables. We got to use the drills and levels, and of course, drive the giant machine.
Thanks to all of our community helpers that took the time to come in and share your jobs with us! And to all the moms who joined us on our field trip yesterday.

The Doctor Is In
Today was one of my favourite days, as we had a special visit from a doctor, and he surprised us with an ambulance! Some kids got to lie on the stretcher and be wheeled inside the ambulance and if you look closely, I think you can see Kelly driving it! He brought us a stethoscope and let us listen to our hearts and a hammer to practice testing our reflexes.
Dr. Guek is a heart surgeon at Columbia Asia Hospital and a dad of a JRK student. His words of advice to all of our Kindergarten students: study, study, study. And then study some more!

Our Community
In Kindergarten, we are still trying to figure out where we fit into the big world around us. To help us understand, we decided to make two unique neighbourhoods right in our classroom. We split into two groups and created some buildings that we might see everyday. We drew up a plan that determined where each building should go. Finally, we were able to work together to connect our individual buildings into one cohesive neighbourhood.
I think we did an amazing job!
